Adoum Garoua, the Cameroonian Minister of Sports and Physical Education, is currently traveling in the West and South-West regions to compensate populations evicted during the construction of the Bafoussam and Limbé stadiums. The minister is carrying 105 million CFA francs in his briefcases, with the intention of distributing part of the money to families in Bafoussam and the rest to others in the locality of Buea. This compensation is a result of the construction of new sports infrastructures in Cameroon, part of the National Sports Infrastructure Development Program (Pndis) launched in 2008. The program aimed to provide the entire country with ultra-modern stadiums and gymnasiums, but had to be revised with a focus on completing the stadiums in Bafoussam and Limbé first.
