The chapter between Onyékachi Apam and Stade Rennais has officially come to a close. The Nigerian defender, who saw limited playing time, has mutually terminated his contract with the Breton club as of Sunday. Hindered by frequent injuries since his arrival, the former Nice player has been unable to showcase the full extent of his talent.
Apam departs without making a single appearance since the beginning of the season, and Rennes has been actively seeking to part ways with him since last summer.
Having arrived in 2010 for a transfer fee of 4.5 million euros, Apam’s stint at Rennes saw him participate in only 31 matches, accumulating 7 yellow cards and 1 red.
Now a free agent, the Super Eagle has the opportunity to seek a new platform to rejuvenate his career and make a fresh start.
