Jamal Ben El-Omeri, the defender for MC Alger, expressed his profound disappointment due to the refereeing injustice suffered by his team against ES Setif (1-0) on Saturday in the 19th round of the Algerian Professional League.
He affirmed that the events experienced by the team and its fans do not befit the reputation of Algerian football, as he put it.
Ben El-Omeri stated on his official Instagram page: “First and foremost, praise be to God for the safety of our loyal fans. Secondly, we must turn the page on the match result and forget it as soon as possible, focusing on the upcoming challenges.”
He added: “Everyone witnessed the violations yesterday, whether from the refereeing or the general atmosphere of the match, but as usual, analysts will not speak about what MC Alger experienced throughout this week.”
He continued: “Perhaps some of them will show a bit of courage and simply say that ES Setif’s goal was not legitimate.”
“It is clear that the issue of Belaïli, or his monthly salary, or anything related to Youssef, is much more important than the lives of the youths who were seriously injured yesterday, and much more important than the image of Algerian football, which witnessed events yesterday that do not befit its reputation,” he added.
“We want the people of ‘Al-Ahmar’ (MC Alger) to be assured that what we experience every week with this team only strengthens our determination to bring joy to a fan base that has proven to be the strongest, most enjoyable, and the best,” he emphasized.
“In conclusion, rest assured that the team spirit is present, and there is no room for fear here. We will remain united,” he concluded.
