Having experienced a disappointing first half of the season, marked by a coaching change, Valenciennes is eager to revitalize its fortunes starting January. The northern French club has been actively engaged in the winter transfer window, and following the arrival of Algerian Carl Medjani, they have officially confirmed the loan signing of Ghanaian striker Majeed Waris, a notable talent from the Black Stars playing for Spartak Moscow in Russia.
As per Va-fc.com, “Striker Abdul Majeed Waris officially signed with VAFC this Thursday evening. Aged 22, this promising Ghanaian international (he took part in the World Cup qualifiers and play-offs) is on loan until the end of the season from Spartak Moscow (Russian D1).”
Waris, already hailed as the successor to Asamoah Gyan in Ghana’s attacking lineup, has showcased his abilities, particularly in Sweden where he emerged as the top scorer in the championship with 22 goals. The addition of Waris is expected to pave the way for the departure of Franco-Togolese player Mathieu Dossevi, who is rumored to be heading to Rennes.
