The Algerian Football Federation is set to hold its ordinary general assembly on February 21, 2013. During the assembly, the FAF will conduct the election of its federal office. Applications for candidacy will be accepted from December 2, 2012, to February 17, 2013. The current president of the FAF, Mohamed Raouraoua, is expected to apply for a new mandate, as permitted by the amendment of decree 05-405, which governs Algerian sports federations. This amendment was issued by the former Minister of Youth and Sports, Yahia Guidoum.
