Kurt Zouma, the highly sought-after defender, is unlikely to leave Saint-Etienne during the winter transfer window, according to Roland Romeyer, the president of the ASSE board of directors. Despite interest from major European clubs such as Chelsea, Monaco, and Arsenal, Zouma is expected to remain with Saint-Etienne at least until the end of the season.
“There are no plans for him to leave. Monaco has not contacted us directly. Zouma is now part of the squad that we want to keep,” stated Romeyer in an interview with Aim. However, he acknowledged the unpredictable nature of football, saying, “Afterwards, in football, it is difficult to know. Football is not a business like any other.”
While Zouma is likely to stay, the same cannot be said for Ibrahima Sissoko, who is on loan from VfL Wolfsburg. Despite Sissoko’s desire to stay, Romeyer mentioned, “Ibrahima Sissoko, I think that in the Mercato, we will not keep him.” Additionally, Jean-Pascal Mignot is not expected to be retained by Saint-Etienne.
