The impact of the Club World Cup is evident as the competition for the title of the best African club of 2013 heats up in the second edition of the Africa Top Sports Awards. The addition of Raja Casablanca, which had a remarkable season and narrowly missed victory in the Club World Cup final against Bayern Munich, has intensified the competition. While there was an exciting battle between Egyptian club Al-Ahly and Congolese club Tout Puissant Mazembe, Raja Casablanca appeared poised to create a surprise. However, CS Sfaxien from Tunisia unexpectedly garnered votes, making it a tight race for the top position. The decision is in your hands, so cast your vote and witness the intense competition among clubs like Al Ahly, Tout Puissant Mazembe, Raja Casablanca, and CS Sfaxien.

Al Ahly: Also known as Al Ahly Cairo, this Egyptian multi-sports club, founded in April 1907 in Cairo, is highly popular in Egypt. With 36 Egyptian championships and eight Champions League victories between 1948 and 2013, Al Ahly is considered the most successful football club in Africa. It was named “African club of the 20th century” in 2000 by the Confederation of African Football. The Red Devils secured their eighth African Champions League title this season, surpassing Orlando Pirates.
Tout Puissant Mazembe: Based in Lubumbashi, Congo, Mazembe emerged as the largest sub-Saharan club with impressive infrastructures, including its stadium and plane. The club has 13 Congolese championship titles and four CAF Champions League victories (1967, 1968, 2009, 2010). Although Mazembe fell short in the final of the Confederation Cup this season, its President, Moïse Katumbi, also serves as the Governor of the Katanga Province.
