Ismail Al-Jamai, the President of the Sports Company for Fath Union Sport, shed light on the current financial crisis facing the club, clarifying that the reported accumulation of unpaid salaries for players is inaccurate.
In an interview with “Hespress,” Al-Jamai stated that the team’s players will receive their salaries and match bonuses before the end of February.
This follows the injection of 400 million centimes into the club’s treasury, comprising subsidies and personal contributions, with Al-Jamai himself contributing.
He added, “There are arrears related to two months’ salaries and five match bonuses, mostly draws.
This issue will be resolved before the start of March, along with some signing bonuses.”
Al-Jamai explained that the delay in disbursing players’ salaries was due to the club not receiving the television broadcasting grant from the professional league, pending the approval of the team’s general assembly.
He stated, “We are currently working at maximum speed to harness the efforts of the city’s stakeholders, especially in the financial aspect.”
The spokesperson also confirmed that frequent meetings are being held in Fez with prominent businessmen to discuss ways to rescue the team financially and attract new sponsors and investors.
Regarding the team’s sporting situation, Al-Jamai emphasized, “Personally, I have contributed and am willing to continue contributing to financially rescue the team.
However, we must not overlook the sporting aspect. Everyone can observe that Fath Union Sport is a targeted team, from being deprived of participation in the Arab Cup to frequent refereeing errors adversely affecting the club’s league performance.”
Despite the challenges, the sacrifices of national coach Tarek Al-Skaitioui and his players continue, with their recent positive results elevating “Al-Mas” to seventh place in the standings with 26 points.
