A special committee affiliated with the International Football Federation (FIFA) arrived in the city of Tangier on Wednesday to assess the readiness of sports facilities there as part of Morocco’s preparations to jointly host the World Cup with Portugal and Spain.
According to sources from “Hesport,” the aforementioned committee visited the Ibn Battuta Grand Stadium and several training grounds to inspect the progress of work and the planned schedule.
The committee also inspected several facilities within its jurisdiction, including hotels designated to accommodate official delegations, and all the necessary arrangements that must be ready on time.
The same source indicated that the committee will also visit the capital, Rabat, to assess the progress of work at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex and other facilities related to the “2030 World Cup.”
A source from Hespress pointed out that the committee may postpone its visit to the city of Marrakech to a later opportunity, as part of the series of visits it is conducting to the three countries preparing to host this major football event.
It is expected that a group of sports facilities in Morocco will be ready to host the upcoming edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025, with work continuing until the designated deadline set by FIFA in preparation for hosting the World Cup.
