Similar to Ghana, Guinea’s coach Kaba Diawara has publicly announced the list of selected players for the fifth day of the CAN 2023 qualifiers and the upcoming friendly match against Brazil.
Notably, Mohamed Bayo, who had a relatively modest season with Lille, registering only 5 goals and an assist, has been omitted from the squad. Similarly, Thierno Issiaga Barry, who plies his trade with Tenerife in the Spanish second division, also did not make the cut.
However, a new inclusion in the squad is Lansana Diakhaby, the goalkeeper from French club Valenciennes, who competes in Ligue 2. This marks Diakhaby’s first call-up to the national team.
Guinea is set to face Egypt on June 14 in a crucial qualifier match, followed by a friendly encounter against Brazil on June 17. These matches present significant opportunities for the Guinean team to showcase their talent and secure positive results.
