In an interview with Radio Okapi, Neveu emphasized the competitive spirit, stating that a coach entering a competition without the belief of progressing beyond the initial stage is not truly a coach. Despite Mauritania’s lack of experience, Neveu and his team are committed to giving their best and causing an upset.
Following Mauritania’s historic qualification for CHAN, Neveu, a French technician, is now eyeing a ticket to the prestigious African Cup of Nations. The coach extended his contract, expressing his desire to see through the challenge and aiming for qualification to the continental tournament.
“I wanted to see my adventure through to the end,” Neveu explained, highlighting the potential and deserving recognition of Mauritania as a footballing nation. The former national coach of Guinea, who had initially been at the helm of the Red Devils of Congo-Brazzaville, announced his contract extension with Mauritania until January 2015.
