Last August, Olympique de Marseille made an attempt to sign Bafétimbi Gomis, and it appears that they are persistently pursuing the Franco-Senegalese striker.
According to Le Progrès, Marseille’s leadership continues to target Gomis, aiming to secure his services as a free agent in August. The Lyon striker’s contract is set to expire on June 30, 2014, making him an attractive prospect on a free transfer.
On the other hand, Lyon’s management prefers to sell the player during the winter transfer window. Negotiations have been initiated with the goal of facilitating Gomis’ move to join Alaixys Romao and the rest of the Marseille team.
Discussions regarding this potential transfer began in June between Gomis and Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas, setting the stage for ongoing developments in the player’s future.
