The best Senegalese athletes of the 2012-2013 season have been announced. Moussa Sow of Fenerbahce won the title of the best Senegalese footballer playing abroad or Ballon d’Or Senegal (BOS). He secured 269 points out of 380 possible, surpassing competitors like Sadio Mané, Demba Bâ, Papis Cissé, and Ibrahima Touré. The best local football title went to Fidéle Gomis, midfielder for Diaraf de Dakar. Mamadou Kassé Hanne, the Senegalese hurdler specializing in the 400m hurdles, received the title of the best Senegalese athlete. The newly introduced category of the best wrestler was won by Balla Gaye II, who dominated with 356 votes out of 390 possible.
