The Algerian national men’s basketball team is set to begin preparations in Batna for the Arab Nations Championship in Alexandria, Egypt, scheduled for December 17 to 23, 2012. National technical director Abderezak Belkadi confirmed the team’s participation, and coach Faid Bilel called up around twenty players for a one-week training camp in Batna. The team will consist of players who participated in the qualifying tournament for the African Zone 1 Championship held in Algiers in July. The Arab Nations Championship was initially planned to be hosted by Iraq but was relocated to Egypt due to security concerns.
