The New York Red Bulls striker has been enlisted as a consultant for the BBC team covering the event. Alongside Gary Lineker, Rio Ferdinand, Clarence Seedorf, Alan Shearer, Phil Neville, and Alan Hansen, Henry will provide insights for the English channel.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Henry stated, “I enjoyed playing in the World Cup, but experiencing it as a supporter and studio consultant will be a new and exciting challenge. I’ve been lucky enough to play with and against players who are taking part, so I’m looking forward to watching their performances this summer.”
This venture into consulting marks Thierry Henry’s first experience in such a role and is likely to contribute to his preparation for future endeavors post his potential retirement, which might occur in December 2014, coinciding with the expiration of his contract with the New York Red Bulls.
