Louis Nicollin had hoped that Rolland Courbis would be the savior for his struggling Montpellier team in French Ligue 1. However, the two men faced disappointment as Montpellier was defeated at home by Saint-Etienne with a score of one goal to zero, courtesy of a goal from M. Gradél in the 75th minute.
Despite the setback, Courbis had maintained a realistic outlook earlier in the week, stating that he couldn’t revolutionize everything overnight. He emphasized the importance of the present and the upcoming matches before the break.
Courbis, the former coach of USM Alger, refused to indulge in dreams and stated, “I’m here to add a little extra, but I’m not a magician. Next season, we will try to play an outsider role.”
Louis Nicollin, the president of the club, expressed his belief in Courbis, saying, “Rolland is the boy we needed. I hope we will get through it; it would be unfortunate if we fell to Ligue 2.”
