Boubacar Baba Diarra, the President of the Malian Football Federation (FEMAFOOT), recently visited Germany to explore the possibility of securing a new coach for the Malian national football team with the help of German expertise. During the discussions, the idea of organizing a friendly match between Mali and the German national team in March 2014 was proposed. The German coach, Joachim Löw, has expressed interest in playing a friendly match against an African opponent, especially since Germany and Ghana are in the same group for the 2014 World Cup. However, as of now, no formal agreement has been reached.
