Heavy rain in Durban disrupted the first round of the Nelson Mandela Open, an EPGA European Tour event initiated in memory of the late Nelson Mandela. The competition, which started on Wednesday, could not be completed on Thursday due to the adverse weather conditions. The round is scheduled to be concluded on Friday morning. Despite the challenges, Englishman Daniel Brooks emerged with the best score of 62 (8 under par) among those who completed their first round. Frenchman François Calmels closely followed, just one stroke behind the leader. The Nelson Mandela Open is the fourth event in the 2013-2014 European Tour season.
