muntamandella In honor of Nelson Mandela, who passed away at the age of 95 last Thursday, UEFA, along with teams worldwide, paid a fitting tribute during the last day of the Champions League group stage on Tuesday. All the teams posed in front of a banner displaying the message: “Madiba, the world will never forget you” (see photo below).
However, Sulley Muntari went a step further in his special tribute to the former president of South Africa. During the Champions League anthem played before the match between AC Milan and Ajax on Wednesday, the Ghanaian midfielder, formerly with Inter, raised a club jersey featuring Madiba’s name along with his age.
