Hossam Hassan expresses fury over Al Ahly vs. Enppi match amid league schedule extension
Hossam Hassan, the coach of Egypt’s national team, has expressed his extreme displeasure following the decision made by the Egyptian Professional Football League to extend the matches of the 16th round of the Premier League until March 15th.
In the past few hours, the league announced the schedule for the remaining matches of the first round of the Premier League, as well as the postponed matches, along with the fixtures for the second round.
It was decided that the match between Al Ahly and Enppi in the 16th round would take place on March 15th.
Last Saturday, the league had announced the suspension of the league after the last match on March 12th, before the international agenda, based on a request from Hossam Hassan, who wanted to prepare the national team for a 6-day camp.
According to “Al-Masry Al-Youm,” Hossam Hassan expressed his strong anger over the decision to hold the Al Ahly vs. Enppi match on March 15th, especially since the agreement was for the last match in the league to be on the 12th of the same month, to prepare the players for the UAE camp.
What ignited the anger of the national team’s head coach is that he learned about the date of the Al Ahly vs. Enppi match through the media, as none of the league officials had informed him about the match date.
Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan have been in contact with the league officials in the past few hours to convey their anger over the match date, especially since the coaching staff wanted all players to be present at the start of the camp.
The Egyptian national team is scheduled to enter a closed camp on March 13th in preparation for participating in the friendly tournament in the UAE, which will take place from March 22nd to 26th, with the participation of New Zealand, Croatia, and Tunisia.
Egypt’s first match against New Zealand is scheduled for March 22nd, with the winner facing the winner of the match between Croatia and Tunisia.
