Gilles Sunu, a French player of Togolese origin, has rejected the first call-up to the Togolese national team for the friendly match against Morocco. In an interview with RFI (Radio France Internationale), Sunu explained his decision and mentioned that he is currently focusing on his club, FC Lorient, and recovering from a serious injury to his Achilles tendon. He emphasized the importance of taking his time before making a decision about playing for the Togolese national team and mentioned discussions with coach Didier Six. Sunu’s father, a former Togolese international, also supports the idea of taking time to prioritize recovery and club commitments.
