Eritrea has achieved success at the African Cycling Championships, with Tesfom Okbamariam winning the men’s elite road race. Okbamariam, a younger brother of cyclists Daniel Teklehaimanot and Nathanael, secured victory ahead of Namibian Dan Craven and Eritrean Merhawi Kudus in a sprint finish. In the women’s category, South Africa’s Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio claimed both the road race and time trial titles. The elite time trial for men was won by Daniel Teklehaimanot, who retained his title. Other notable results include Willem Smith winning the men’s under-23 time trial and Wahazit Kidane finishing second in the women’s time trial for Eritrea.
