Deco, the retired Portuguese footballer, is challenging the one-year suspension for doping imposed by the Brazilian sports justice system. The former midfielder tested positive for furosemide, a diuretic, after a match with Fluminense in the Brazilian Championship. Deco, who announced his retirement in August, appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in an attempt to overturn the one-year suspension, seeking to clear his name of any wrongdoing. The date for the CAS hearing is yet to be set.
