According to L’Equipe, the coach of Montpellier Hérault Club has decided to resign following the team’s seventh consecutive defeat in Ligue 1. The resignation comes after Montpellier’s 0-2 loss to Lorient on the 16th day of the French championship, with Aboubakar scoring for Lorient.
The defeat in the previous weekend also drew criticism from the club president, Loulou Nicollin, who openly accused the coach of making a “stupid” decision in his recent recruitment. After 16 days of play, Montpellier finds itself in 17th place in Ligue 1.
