2014 WORLD DRAW: STRONG GROUPS FOR THE AFRICANS DURING THE SIMULATION

Draw1 300x168 1

Before each draw, it is customary for FIFA to conduct a simulation to ensure the smooth functioning of the actual draw. In preparation for the 2014 World Cup draw, FIFA performed a simulation on Wednesday. The African teams, however, do not seem to have received favorable outcomes in the simulated groups.

In the simulation, Ivory Coast found themselves in Group E alongside the reigning world champion, Spain, and England. Cameroon was drawn into a challenging group with Colombia, Honduras, and the Netherlands. Nigeria’s group included Uruguay, the United States, and Croatia.

France, having survived the play-offs against Ukraine, ended up in the so-called “group of death” along with Brazil, Italy, and Australia. Ghana was placed in Group C with Argentina, Costa Rica, and Russia, while Algeria landed in Group H with Belgium, Mexico, and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

It’s important to note that this was only a simulation, and the actual draw is scheduled for Friday. The real draw will determine the composition of the groups for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
