Saibou Badarou’s outstanding performances in the recent UFOA (Union of West African Federations) football tournament have attracted attention. Finishing as the top scorer with 4 goals, the Togolese striker may soon depart from his current club, AS Douanes (2nd in the last championship), to join Nigeria.
SuperSport reports that Bayelsa United, a Nigerian first-division team, is set to welcome Badarou in the upcoming days. Ladan Bosso, the manager of Bayelsa United, expressed his interest, stating, “I followed Badarou’s performances during the GoTV UFOA Cup. It will be a good acquisition for us; he is a good striker.”
If the transfer is finalized, Badarou, who was the top scorer in the last Togo championship with 14 goals, will become the second international player to join Bayelsa United. This follows the addition of the Beninese player Salomon Junior, who also participated in the UFOA tournament last month in Kumasi.
