Amir Hisham, a prominent media figure, has shed light on the grave error committed by Zamalek Sporting Club’s Board of Directors in revoking the membership of Mortada Mansour, the former club president.
The Board of Directors of Zamalek, led by Hussein Labib, announced on Sunday the revocation of Mortada Mansour’s membership due to his failure to meet the conditions for acquiring active membership, following Articles 8 and 12 of the club’s bylaws.
During his show “90+” on Al-Nahar TV channel, Amir Hisham affirmed that Zamalek’s Board of Directors had committed a serious violation in the procedures for revoking Mortada Mansour’s membership.
Hisham stated, “The Zamalek Board of Directors should have referred Mortada Mansour for investigation before making any decision regarding him, and if they wished to revoke his membership, they should have followed the regulations.”
He further added, “The regulations required Mansour to be suspended pending a decision by the next general assembly to revoke his membership.
However, it was not within the authority of the board to decide to revoke his membership without referring the matter to the general assembly.”
