Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan has announced that he will no longer take penalties for the Black Stars, following advice from his late mother. Gyan revealed that his mother had advised him to stop taking penalties, and he has decided to honor that advice. Gyan had faced criticism for missing crucial penalties for Ghana in the past, and he now plans to avoid taking penalty kicks. Ghana is in Group B at CAN 2013, along with Mali, DR Congo, and Niger.
