The drug-related case involving wrestling promoter Luc Nicolaï has taken a new turn as the Thiès flagrante delictos court has been declared incompetent to examine the case. Nicolaï and his co-defendants’ lawyers had raised concerns about irregularities in the processing of the file and called for the cancellation of the procedure due to formal defects.
The court, responding to these concerns, dismissed the case and referred it to the investigating judge of the Court of Appeal. Despite the legal developments, it has been stated that the detention of Luc Nicolaï will not affect the career of the popular wrestler Modou Lô, and plans for wrestling events in Gambia and other locations are still in place. The wrestling promoter’s legal situation is being closely monitored in relation to the ongoing legal proceedings.
