Twenty football players, both active and retired, have been questioned by Austrian police as part of an investigation into suspicions of match-fixing in Austrian football championships. The players involved play or have played for clubs ranging from regional to first division levels. The investigation covers a period from 2004 to 2013, with suspicions of match manipulation in 17 to 19 football matches. The inquiry was initiated after former Grödig player Dominique Taboga filed a complaint claiming he was a victim of blackmail by the sports betting mafia. Three players from the Austrian first division club Grödig were among those questioned.
