FIFA’s financial assistance program for the development of Cameroonian football in 2012 is set to undergo an audit. Fécafoot (the Cameroonian Football Federation) has initiated this audit through its standardization committee. While this audit is not within the standardization committee’s main mandate, it has taken the step to review the use of funds. FIFA’s Financial Assistance Program (FAP) provides funds to member federations for administrative management cleanup, infrastructure, and youth football development projects. The Cameroonian press has criticized the alleged poor management of the funds in 2012, pointing out the absence of sports complexes, technical centers, or stadiums. The audit is expected to shed light on how the funds were utilized.
