Algeria, having secured a spot in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, is gearing up for the tournament by planning three friendly matches. The Algerian Football Federation’s president, Mohamed Raouraoua, stated that the national technical staff would decide on the opponents after the draw scheduled for December 6. The first preparation match is set for March 5, 2014, the only FIFA date available before the World Cup. While several proposals have been received, including one from Portugal, the final decision will be made after the draw. The other two matches are scheduled for the end of May and the beginning of June, aligning with the team’s World Cup preparation. The location for the training camp is yet to be decided, with the possibility of it taking place in Brazil, depending on the draw results. FIFA regulations dictate that teams’ preparations will begin on May 26, and the designated players must be released by their clubs on May 18, 2014.
