Jacques Anouma, the former leader of the Ivorian Football Federation, shared his perspective on the potential retention or removal of Sabri Lamouchi, the coach of the Ivorian national football team. Anouma emphasized that the decision regarding the future of the Elephants’ coach rests solely with the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) and should not be influenced by the supporters’ opinions.
In his weekly column published on his website, Anouma stated, “My conviction on the issue is that we must leave the choice of technical supervision to the Federation.” He urged trust and support for the elected officials of the Federation, asserting that they are the ones responsible for decisions related to the national teams.
Anouma acknowledged the concerns of Ivorian football fans regarding the team’s performance but highlighted that football is ultimately a competition, and winning should be the primary focus. While Anouma did not explicitly state his stance on retaining or removing Lamouchi, he emphasized the importance of leaving the decision to the Federation without turning it into a public referendum.
