The president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Issa Hayatou, is expected to miss the return final between Esperance de Tunis and Al Ahly on November 17. This will mark the second consecutive absence of Hayatou from the African Champions League final, with the previous one being the 2011 edition between Esperance Sportive de Tunis and WAC. Hayatou faced criticism from Esperance supporters during the 2010 final between EST and TP Mazembe, which might explain his reluctance to attend the Tunisian stadium finals.
