The management of Zamalek Football Club has settled on entrusting the fate of several players whose contracts expire at the end of the current season to the decision of the team’s head coach, José Gomez.
According to “Al-Masry Al-Youm,” Zamalek’s management has requested a performance evaluation from Gomez regarding Youssef Ibrahim “Obama,” the midfielder, and Mahmoud Alaa, the team’s defender.
Based on the coach’s preference, a decision will be made regarding contract renewal.
Zamalek’s management aims to assess the players objectively, free from any personal considerations.
Mahmoud Alaa, the team’s defender, had previously approached Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed, the football director, seeking clarity on Zamalek’s intentions regarding his contract renewal.
This inquiry came amidst local offers, including one from Pyramids FC.
Meanwhile, Zamalek continues its preparations for the upcoming match against Ismaily in the Egyptian Premier League scheduled for next Monday.
The coaching staff is keen on enhancing the players’ physical fitness, particularly the new signings acquired during the recent winter transfer window.
