Patrice Neveu, the former Guinea coach, decided to extend his contract with Mauritania until 2015 instead of signing with Congo. Neveu explained that he preferred to continue with Mauritania due to the potential the country has to showcase in the future. He mentioned contributing to the revival of Mauritanian football and expressed his desire to bring new things to the team. While Neveu sees potential in Mauritania, some in Congo consider his decision not to coach their team as a lack of respect towards the Congolese Football Federation.
