Lille extend Tanguy Nianzou’s contract through to June 2029

Lille have extended Tanguy Nianzou’s contract by a further year, keeping the France-born Ivory Coast international at the club until June 2029.

The 24-year-old central defender joined Lille last summer after leaving Sevilla, and has made five appearances this season as he attempts to rebuild his career in northern France.

Nianzou has started four matches since returning to France and has also provided one assist in Ligue 1. His progress was briefly halted by a suspension after he was sent off against Monaco.

The defender came through demanding spells with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich before moving to Sevilla, where a succession of injuries disrupted his time in Spain. He moved to Lille as a free agent in July and has since begun to find regular opportunities with the Dogues.

His contract renewal was agreed shortly after Lille reached an agreement with Hamza Igamane, as the club continued to secure the futures of key members of their squad.

Lille’s next fixture is their 10th Ligue 1 match of the season, at home to Stade Rennais. The odds listed by 1xbet make Lille 3.00 to win, with a draw priced at 3.50 and a Stade Rennais victory at 2.30.
