Mbappe matches Real Madrid scoring run as Ronaldo record comes into view

Kylian Mbappe continued his impressive goalscoring form for Real Madrid by scoring in a 3-0 victory over Valencia in La Liga on Saturday.

The France forward completed the scoring in the 75th minute, securing a convincing win for the Spanish side. Federico Valverde opened the scoring in the 28th minute before Arda Guler doubled Real Madrid’s advantage nine minutes later.

Mbappe has now scored in seven consecutive matches for Real Madrid, according to statistics published by Spanish football analyst Alexis “Mister Chip” on X.

That run puts him level with several scoring streaks achieved by two of the club’s leading modern goalscorers, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

Ronaldo remains the standout figure in the comparison. He scored in 12 successive matches between 2014 and 2018, while also producing runs of 10 matches in 2014, eight in 2012 and 2013, and seven in 2012.

Benzema scored in seven consecutive matches in both 2021 and 2022.

Mbappe has also previously managed a longer scoring sequence than his current run, finding the net in eight successive matches during 2025.

The victory over Valencia came in the 12th round of the Spanish top flight and maintained Mbappe’s latest run as he attempts to match the most notable scoring sequences in Real Madrid’s history.

The listed schedule also includes Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey meeting with Tavernes de la Valldigna on 10 November 2026. Valencia are listed to face Real Madrid in La Liga on 21 November 2026, while Celta Vigo are also included in the upcoming league schedule.
