Tunisia hand three players maiden call-ups for Libya qualifiers
Tunisia head coach Mouin Chaâbani has named a 27-man squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Libya, with three players earning their first senior national team call-ups.
Moataz Zemzemi, Rafik Aouani and Mohamed Ali Ben Ammouda are the new faces in the Eagles of Carthage squad after receiving their maiden invitations ahead of the third and fourth matchdays of the qualifying campaign.
Their inclusion offers the trio an opportunity to make their international debuts as Tunisia prepare for two important encounters against their North African neighbours.
Chaâbani has also welcomed back several familiar faces, with Firas Chaouat, Mohamed Dräger, Ghaith Zaalouni, Mohamed Ali Ben Hamida and Mohamed Amine Ben Hamida returning to the national team after missing previous selections.
The 27-man squad consists of three goalkeepers, nine defenders, eight midfielders and seven forwards as the Tunisian coach looks to assemble a competitive team for the November fixtures.
Tunisia will host Libya on November 13 before travelling for the return encounter, scheduled for the fourth matchday of the qualifiers.
The Eagles of Carthage will be hoping to make the most of home advantage in the opening fixture before completing the double-header away from home as they continue their pursuit of qualification for the 2027 AFCON.
