Orlando Pirates will face Sekhukhune United in the Carling Knockout quarter-finals at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Saturday, with the defending champions seeking a sixth successive win in all competitions.

The Buccaneers go into the match second in the Betway Premiership after beating Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 in the Soweto derby in their most recent outing.

Pirates began their defence of the Carling Knockout with a commanding victory over Milford FC at the same venue and will now meet Sekhukhune for the fourth time this season.

Orlando Pirates have named Chaine in goal, with Hotto, Seema, Zulu and Lungu in defence. Selepe, Mokobodi and Masilela will operate in midfield, while Padime, Moremi and Mbuthuma lead the attack.

Dladla, Derbyshire, Rapoo, Sigomoshe, Mthiyane, Mmolai, Appollis, Kgositsile and Luthuli are listed among the substitutes.

Sekhukhune United’s starting line-up is yet to be confirmed.

Babina Noko also reached the last eight with a comprehensive win, overcoming Richards Bay FC in the previous round. They are seventh in the Premiership and have suffered only one defeat in their past five matches.

However, their five-match unbeaten run ended against Milford FC in their last game.

Pirates have held the upper hand in their recent meetings with Sekhukhune and defeated them in August. Saturday’s match will be the second cup meeting between the sides this season.

The clubs have played 15 times since 2021. Only two of those matches have ended in draws, while Orlando Pirates have lost just once to Sekhukhune during that period.

Kick-off is scheduled for 15h00.
