Algerian midfielder Ryad Boudebouz, currently playing for Sochaux, shared insights into his personality and addressed recent challenges in an interview with the Team:
“When I don’t do things for the team, it annoys people. I want to improve my efficiency, to take a step forward. It’s when I’m allowed to take charge of the game that I’m the best, not when people start telling me what to do. When people put barriers in front of me, I act tough.”
Boudebouz also responded to recent insults from some supporters: “It concerned a minority; people know what I did for the club. I don’t want to talk about revenge now. But when it’s an important match at the Bonal stadium, there… When I score, the supporters will applaud me, and I will be able to say: ‘There’s the dirty Arab.'”
He expressed readiness to face challenges, especially if he moves to a big club: “If I have to go to a big club, it will be worse. Better to take slaps now so you can take it later. It’s up to me to behave well on and off the field. That doesn’t scare me.”
Reflecting on personal growth, he stated, “A few months ago, the guy in front of me who insulted me would have eaten something. Today, I gained in maturity.”
