There were alarming incidents during the preparations for the 2013-2014 football season in Senegal, as referees demonstrated physical deficiencies. Referee Ismaila Diouf, during an assessment at Léopold Senghor Stadium, experienced two cardiac arrests after six rounds on the field. His colleagues quickly provided assistance, and the referees’ doctor, Ndob Seck, took charge of the situation. Mr. Diouf was evacuated, and the medical team continued tests. However, two other referees, Mamadou Guéye and Samba Kobar, also suffered physical pain during the assessments. This raised concerns, especially considering the death of a 28-year-old referee in 2010 during similar tests.
