Renato Sanches linked with Atletico-MG move after leaving PSG

Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches, currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Brazilian side Atletico-MG in Serie A.

The 29-year-old became a free agent after leaving Paris St-Germain on 1 September 2026, and Atletico-MG have emerged as the club associated with a possible move.

Sanches spent last season on loan at Panathinaikos from PSG before returning to the French champions at the end of June. He did not make an appearance for PSG in the 2026-27 Ligue 1 campaign, nor in the Trophee des Champions or Uefa Super Cup, before departing the club.

The central midfielder began his senior career at Benfica and joined Bayern Munich in 2016 after helping Portugal win the European Championship. He later spent time at Swansea City, Lille, PSG and Roma, as well as returning to Benfica on loan in 2024-25.

Sanches has won four German league titles with Bayern, two French titles with Lille and PSG, and the Portuguese league title with Benfica. He was also named the 2016 Golden Boy.

His current market value is listed at €1.5m, but no transfer fee or contract terms have been attached to the reported Atletico-MG interest. Sanches remains without a club as of 6 November 2026.
