Wydad Temara have threatened to take their dispute with Wydad Athletic Club to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) if their appeal against a disciplinary decision is unsuccessful.

The Moroccan club expressed deep regret over the decision taken by the Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation concerning the participation of Imad Babasa in their match against Wydad Athletic Club in the first round of the National Professional Championship.

In a statement issued on Friday, Wydad Temara criticised the ruling and confirmed they would pursue the matter through the appropriate channels.

Club to present case to appeals committee

Wydad Temara said they would submit their case to the Appeals Committee of the National Professional Football League as they seek to defend their rights.

The club is seeking a review of the penalty imposed by the Central Disciplinary Committee over the player’s participation in the match.

CAS action remains an option

Wydad Temara warned that they would take the matter to CAS if the Appeals Committee failed to respond to their submission.

The club’s statement makes clear its intention to continue challenging the disciplinary decision.
