Abde Ezzalzouli committed to Real Betis despite Paris St-Germain and Barcelona interest
Abde Ezzalzouli has decided to remain at Real Betis and is not considering a move during the January 2027 transfer window, despite interest from several European clubs.
The Moroccan winger’s priority is to continue with the Andalusian club, where he feels valued and believes he has the ideal conditions to keep developing. According to Sport, Ezzalzouli has closed the door on a winter departure.
Africa Foot, citing sources close to the player, reports that Ezzalzouli is satisfied with his current sporting situation and has no intention of leaving Real Betis midway through the season. He does not want to interrupt a period in which he has found the consistency and confidence he had been seeking.
Paris St-Germain has emerged as one possible destination for the Morocco international. The French club is considering strengthening its attack after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s injury, but Ezzalzouli is not planning to open negotiations with another side during the campaign.
A potential return to Barcelona has also been discussed. Barcelona retains 20% of the player’s rights, but sources close to Ezzalzouli firmly deny that there have been any contacts with the Catalan club about a possible future move.
Those sources also say there was no possibility of a return to Barcelona during the previous summer, despite reports and speculation suggesting otherwise.
Real Betis have no intention of facilitating the winger’s departure either. Ezzalzouli is under contract with the club until June 2029, with a release clause worth about 60m euros. The figure reflects the importance he has gained within the Andalusian club’s sporting project.
The 24-year-old has made a strong start to the season, scoring four goals and providing one assist in 11 official appearances. He has played 874 minutes in total.
Those figures follow an encouraging previous campaign, in which Ezzalzouli scored 10 goals and supplied eight assists in 29 La Liga matches, according to Africa Foot.
Ezzalzouli believes he still has room to improve and does not want to rush into a new experience elsewhere. His immediate objective is to establish himself as one of Real Betis’ leading attacking players.
His current decision is therefore to continue at Real Betis, at least until the end of the season. His commitment is particularly significant during a campaign in which the club is competing in the Champions League.
