Jordanian giants Al-Faisaly have announced their decision to part ways with Egyptian coach Tariq Mustafa despite a string start to the campaign.

Mustafa leaves the club alongside his assistants, Amir Muhammad and Essam Ahmed as the club seeks for a new direction.

The departure comes after a period that saw the coaching team guide Al-Faisaly to silverware, with their biggest achievement being the triumph in the Jordanian Super Cup.

“Al-Faisaly Club extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to Captain Tariq Mustafa, and to Captain Amir Muhammad and Captain Issam Ahmed, in recognition of their efforts and contributions during their time with the first football team, which culminated in winning the Jordanian Super Cup title,” the club stated.

The Jordanian outfit also wished the departing coaching staff well in their future professional endeavours, expressing hope that they would enjoy continued success in their coaching careers.

The decision is particularly notable given Al-Faisaly’s position in the domestic league standings. At the time of the announcement, the club occupied top spot in the Jordanian league with 14 points from seven matches, highlighting the relatively strong start to their campaign.

Their position at the summit makes the departure of Mustafa and his assistants an important development for the club as they look to maintain their momentum in the title race.

Mustafa’s exit also brings an end to a spell that delivered silverware for the Jordanian side, with the Super Cup success standing out as a significant achievement during his tenure.

Attention will now turn to Al-Faisaly’s next move as the club prepares to determine its technical direction for the remainder of the season.

The management will be expected to address the vacant coaching positions and ensure the team’s impressive start to the league campaign is not disrupted as they continue their pursuit of domestic honours.
