Ferencvaros delivered one of the standout results of Europa League Matchday 4 by beating Milan 2-0 at San Siro, while Bournemouth and Celtic fought back to secure victories.
Benfica kept their perfect record intact, but Sunderland suffered their first league-phase defeat after losing at home to GNK Dinamo.
Ferencvaros stun Milan
Lenny Joseph scored twice as Ferencvaros won at Milan to make it four victories from four matches. The result leaves the Italian side with only three points from their opening four fixtures.
Milan goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani, making his full debut, made five saves to deny Joseph before the striker finally opened the scoring early in the second half. Joseph then doubled the advantage after breaking clear on a counter-attack.
Ferencvaros finished with 10 men after Bamidele Yusuf was sent off late in the match, but Milan were unable to capitalise.
Bournemouth also maintained a 100% record in their debut European campaign with a 3-1 comeback win at Sparta Praha.
Ebrima Singhateh put the Czech hosts ahead with an impressive individual goal, while Lewis Cook missed a penalty after his effort struck the post. Sparta were reduced to 10 men before half-time when Tobias Guddal was dismissed.
Bournemouth took control after the break. Substitute Tyler Adams reacted quickest to a loose ball to equalise, before fellow substitutes Evanilson and Rayan completed the turnaround. Rayan has now scored three goals in the competition.
Celtic earn first league-phase points
Celtic finally secured their first points of the league phase with a dramatic 3-2 home win against Besiktas.
The match was short on chances in the first half, but Junior Olaitan gave Besiktas the lead after following up when Sam Johnstone saved his penalty. Callum Osmand and Camilo Duran then put Celtic in front from the bench.
Orkun Kokcu levelled with a superb strike, but Duran scored again late on to give Celtic their first victory of the campaign.
Sunderland were beaten 2-0 by GNK Dinamo at the Stadium of Light. Luka Stojkovic volleyed the visitors ahead midway through the first half before setting up Dion Beljo to make it 2-0 before the interval.
Regis Le Bris’ side threatened after the break, with Kevin Danso hitting the crossbar and Brian Brobbey denied by Dominik Kotarski, but Dinamo defended their advantage comfortably.
