Comoros recall five players for Congo double-header in CAN 2027 qualifiers

Hubert Velud has named a 24-player Comoros squad for the two CAN 2027 qualifying matches against the Republic of the Congo, with five players returning to the Cœlacanthes set-up.

Faiz Selemani, Said Bakari, Ismael Boura, Rafiki Said and Anfane Said Djambae are all back in the squad for the third and fourth rounds of qualifying.

Selemani was left out of the September squad as Velud opted to give greater opportunities to a new generation of players. Boura and Rafiki Said missed that gathering because of injuries.

Their return gives Velud additional options, particularly in attack and defence. The inclusions of Bakari and Anfane Said Djambae complete the five changes highlighted in the latest selection.

Comoros will host the Republic of the Congo at the Stade de Malouzini on Friday, 13 November. The return match will take place in Brazzaville on Tuesday, 17 November at the Stade Alphonse-Massamba-Debat.

The Cœlacanthes will be seeking points against the Diables rouges as they attempt to remain in contention for qualification.
