Chelsea interested in Brentford and Senegal left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf

Senegal left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf is the subject of reported interest from Chelsea, with the 21-year-old currently at Brentford.

Diouf joined Brentford from West Ham United on 28 August 2026 in a deal worth €40.8m. He signed a contract running until 30 June 2031, having moved to London after one season with West Ham.

The defender has made five Premier League appearances for Brentford this season, playing 154 minutes, and has also featured three times in the EFL Cup. He has yet to score or provide an assist in those matches.

Diouf has also represented Senegal at the 2026 World Cup, making three appearances and starting two of them. He is listed as a left-back and is left-footed.

The potential Chelsea interest comes only a short time after Brentford committed a significant fee to sign him. Diouf’s current market value is listed at €35m, while his previous move from Slavia Prague to West Ham in July 2025 cost €22m.

He began his senior career with Troms IL after leaving Academy Mawade Wade in Senegal, before joining Slavia Prague in January 2024. He won the Czech league title with the club in the 2024-25 season.

Diouf remains contracted to Brentford until 2031, with the London club having signed him permanently earlier this season.
