The LFP disciplinary committee has handed down a 10-match suspension to Kurt Zouma for his violent tackle on Thomas Guerbert of Sochaux, which resulted in a fracture of Guerbert’s tibia fibula. The Central African-origin defender will be unavailable for several matches, including the upcoming derby against Lyon in the 13th round of Ligue 1. AS Saint-Étienne coach Christophe Galtier expressed his understanding of the punishment, acknowledging that Zouma expected a sanction but possibly hoped for a lesser one after reviewing the incident. Galtier also expressed support for the injured player, Thomas Guerbert.
